ITALIAN INDUSTRY
A volume of photographs centered around the history of Italian industry. A photographic voyage that traces its birth and evolution through images by the most noted and important photographers in Italy. Photography applied to industry. An exceptional archive of rare and often unique images that constitute a veritable journey: From industrial archeology to the ?“new economy,?” it focuses on the changes that have taken place in the labor force during the 19th and 20th centuries. The path takes off from the first factories born in the 19th century, now closed down, modified or absorbed. It passes through factory gates showing us images that are of a distant past but of everyday life. Manual labor on the assembly line that becomes automated. New jobs that arise from obsolete activities. The white collars and the blue. From the typewriter to the computer, from heavy industry to the service economy.
