PIERGIORGIO BRANZI
Ever since his first experiences in the 1950s, the most ?European? of young Italian photographers of the post-war period was Piergiorgio Branzi. This monograph, realised in collaboration with Fiaf, presents to us his work, his highly-suggestive line which, above and beyond the currents being formed in those years, led him to filter enthusiastically and with curiosity the most advanced and sophistcated anxieties of international photography that it was finally possible to learn and study even in Italy. The personages of Branzi?s photographs - at the bar, in the street, behind a display case, or above a window - became universal emblems, rather than representing specific events of the daily chronicle.
