For the first time, ?“Il mondo davanti alla mia porta?” gathers into a single volume the best photographs taken by Strand during the years he spent in Europe (1950-1976), reproduced from rare period prints. Organised into geographical sequences (France, Italy, The Hebrides, Romania, Egypt, Morocco, and Ghana), the eighty-eight magnificently-reproduced pictures are imposing for their strong sense of formal integrity. We find ourselves in front of a fresh, vibrant portrait of Strand as a man, of his vision and his constant faith in the human spirit and in its renewal.
