GLI INCORPORA
Among the photographers active in Palermo during the 19th century, the Incorpora family occupied a very important position. Starting in the 1860s, together with Eugenio Interguglielmi and Enrico Seffer, Giuseppe Incorpora and his sons - Francesco, Giovanni and Salvatore - were the protagonists of the great Sicilian tradition of ?vedutismo? and studio photography. Today, in the light of the results of a systematic survey made by the Istituto Superiore per la Storia della Fotografia within the framework of a more general project on the history of photography in Palermo from its origins to our day, it is possible to reconstruct their activity in a complete and philologicallybased manner.
