EDWARD WESTON
The only retrospective on the market in Italy dedicated to the great American photographer Edward Weston. The work of this American from the state of Illinois who died in 1958 belongs to one of the most important chapters in the history of photography. If for Gertrude Stein, the American writer and his contemporary, ?“a rose is a rose is a rose?”, for Weston - who in those same years had worked with extenuating hours of posing at the photogram of a shell, as on that of a dune in the desert, of a female nude as of a sinuous leaf of a cactus plant - the life-size picture was superseded and transformed into a symbol of pure forms and allusions with an almost magical savour.
