TUSCANS: A BURNING PASSION
A perfect marriage between the most beloved Italian cigar and the prestigious Florentine publishing house, which has dedicated the volume to the culture of ?“old-fashioned smoking?”. ?“TOSCANI, a burning passion?” is an elegant declaration of love for a product which has a ?“cultural valence?” that has been underestimated until now. It is one of anchorage to the territory in which it originated: the Tuscany of the Grand Dukes of Lorraine, and to the work of women, the sigaraie (workers who made the cigars by hands). With the autonomy of their work and their social and political commitment - as witnessed in the book by a photo from the Alinari Archives that shows them lined up for a march during revolts in Milan - they were an undeniable model of female emancipation.
