EROS IN POSTCARD
For some time now, the photographic postcard has become the object of mass collecting, transforming itself into a highly sought-after object for enthusiasts of all ages. The volume offers a panorama of ?“particular?” postcards, all dedicated to erotic pictures. Since its appearance, in fact, photography was instantaneously attracted by the female nude, and the postcard of the nude was immediately the first and most immediate declension in series. At stake between artistic pipe-dreams and simpler sensual allusions, the erotic postcard ending up becoming an actual photographic genre: from the models captured between their undergarments and a maliciouslydraped sheet to the ?“cocottes?” who offered themselves to the camera lens almost in a promotional catalogue for their possibilities.
