This third volume of the series dedicated to ?Science and Photography? confronts the important subject of anthropological photography. In particular, it analyses for the first time the documentation that originated from the Florentine anthropological school, from Mantegazza to Cipriani. The great debt of anthropological studies in regard to the new technique of reproduction is testified to here by the quality and originality of the photographic materials coming from the Florentine University?s collections and made available for the first time on this occasion.
