LES PARURES DU CORPS
A collection of photos taken between 1982 and 1992 by the travelling photographer Laura Sonnino Jannelli on the occasion of repeated journeys to Africa, during which the authoress approached and studied various ethnic groups in southern Ethiopia, northern Kenya, western Africa, and Namibia. In particular, the volume proposes a selection of photographs dedicated to the documentation of the different forms of body ornamentation and head-dress. These suggest interesting reflections on the aesthetic, symbolic, and anthropological values of these manifestations.
