The volume publishes for the first time and in exhaustive manner the hidden treasures of the Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata, reconstructing their artistic endowments. The catalogue for the exhibition of the same name documents the work of recovery and research gone ahead with by the Convent of the Annunziata and the University of Florence, and represents a fundamental chapter in the history of the Florentine artistic heritage, by re-evaluating art treasures that have been unknown until now. Here, then, are liturgical vestments, precious jewellery, choir books with illuminated manuscripts, the tombstones of the cloister, majolica work, incunabula, wooden furnishings, all catalogued and photographed.
