TRAINS ACROSS NATURE
The Grand Duchy of Tuscany was among the first States prior to Italy unity to develop a railway network and to present the project with the oldest date, going back to 1815. This volume is dedicated to the history of the railways in Tuscany from the origins up to our day. The rich photographic display accompanies a historical treatise of great interest, for an analysis of the financial, technological, and environmental problems linked to the development of the railways. The iconographic documentation, starting from the 19th century with several unpublished pictures, leads us up to the recent interventions for the ?“Direttissima?” [rapid short-route service].
