THE POETS' GULF
Fifty photographs from the Alinari Archives document the charm of the Ligurian Riviera and of the Gulf of La Spezia, and make it possible to relive the same poetic suggestions that enchanted the numerous tourists who stayed there during the past century. The pictures taken by Noack, Degoix, Alinari and Brogi - just to recall some of the many names of photographers who worked in Liguria in the 19th century - re-propose landscapes, monuments, and men with documentary severity and compositional equilibrium, according to the aesthetic parameters of the Romantic poetry so dear to the clients of the time.
