FROM HOLY YEARS TO GIUBILEE
This history narrates in pictures the city of Rome as it was presented, starting in 1850, to the gaze of the numerous pilgrims arriving there on the occasion of the Holy Years. Human events and religious moments, social and city-planning transformations, are documented with magnificent rare images: subdivided chronologically, these make it possible to make a journey à rebours in the history of the numerous interventions that have involved the city every time that preparatons began to celebrate the great jubilee events. An investigation into the past to rediscover those elements of continuity that were to lead to the important appointment in the year 2000.
