CROWN & CAMERA
Not only a gallery of portraits, but in particular a panorama of British society in the 19th century through an extraordinary collection: the photographs in the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle. Of the prestigious collection, which took off from the enthusiasm of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert for the new invention, and with their acquiring the first photograph in 1840, the volume presents a selection of pictures dedicated to the personages and places of the Victorian world, taken by the most important photographers of the time, such as Roger Fenton, James Robertson, and Oscar Gustav Rejlander.
