FAMILY SCENE AND TWO HORSEMEN
This painting is taken from a decoration on the Etruscan Tomb of the Baron in the Necropolis of Tarquinia and is dated 510 BC. This Necropolis is found on the Via Aurelia, a short distance from Rome, and this helped to give the city more political and cultural importance at the time. Paintings of this tomb are the most famous of all Tarquinia Necropolis thanks to their elegance and decorum.
