THE UFFIZI
This guide contains photos and explanations of some of the most beautiful works of art in the world. Works by Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Raphael, Andrea del Sarto, Titian and many others. You can also see tapestries and frescoes, sculptures, prints and drawings. The guide also contains an interesting history of the Uffizi itself, which was founded in 1581 by Francesco de Medici. The top floor of the Gallery, designed by Vasari and known as the Vasari Corridor, was once used as an indoor passage to get from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti, crossing the river Arno via the top of the Ponte Vecchio.
