PONTORMO - ROSSO FIORENTINO
These two artists were born in Florence within three months of each other. The painters are linked by the fact that they were pupils of Andrea del Sarto and that they both very much admired and used as models the works of Michelangelo, Leonardo, Fra' Bartolommeo, Masaccio, Donatello and Jacopo and Andrea Sansovino. The parallels between their careers is remarkable.
