The exhibition proposes a philologic reconstruction of some of the most rich art collections of the first half of '600 and offers a unique and unrepeatable occasion to see in the original contest the works belonged to the collections of the powerfull families of Genoa, giving the image of a town, international commercial and financial centre, at the summit of its economical and cultural power. The stay of Rubens in Genoa coincides with the start of the highest splendour season of local patritiate, stuff with the celebration of its own prestige thanks to the coming of the major artists of Europe and Italy. In this moment of highest development ofcollections in the town, the Superba becomes a real crossroads for artists. It is now that figures of "mecenate" and art collectors grow.
